Another Update

I'm back in Austin. It's good to be home, but weird to be here at the same time. Being in Tulsa was amazing. I don't have any complaints other than my mom and dad weren't too close.

I start my new job on Monday, the 5th, and I'm very excited. I will be working for another home health company as the Intake Coordinator as well as the back up Home Health Aide. It will be fun to learn something new. I still need to register for some classes, but I've found a few schools that I need to really look into for Nursing school. I'm hoping to be in school by next Fall.

As for the rest of my life, everything is great. I love bing close to most of the family, and playing with my nieces and nephews that are around here.

First Timer

So... I've seen a few of these and didn't think I would bother since everyone I've seen has been from a friend that is married, and they are keeping everyone updated on their families. Since I'm single and really can just tell what's happening in my life in just a few short sentences I didn't think it would be worth it.
But what the heck... if no one reads this I won't be offended.

So, for those of you who don't know what's going on in my life, I will update you.

In October of last year I was getting just upset about where I was in my life and what I was doing so I called my sister Jeanette to vent. She told me to move to Oklahoma, and work for a while. I told her no way, but thanks for the offer. Well, a few days later she called me to tell me that I was flying to Oklahoma for a week and I had a job interview. I said why not, and spent a week in Tulsa.

I interviewed at the day care where my nieces attend, and was hired on the spot. I told them I would have to think about it, but if I did start I wouldn't be until the first of the year. So, I went home to Round Rock and did some thinking, and praying. I figured that my life wasn't going much of anywhere in Round Rock so why not.

So, I'm in Tulsa now. I love it. I worked at the daycare for about 3 months then went to a great program to get my Certified Nurses Aide and Certified Home Health Aide. I worked at an assisted living home for a little bit, but I'm now working with a home health agency. I really like it so far. The people I work with are great, and so far we're getting along pretty well.

I'm going to school again, which is really nice. I will be taking a Medical Terminology class and a Phlebotomy class starting in a couple weeks. I'm pretty excited for both! Currently I am deciding between an LPN or a full RN. I would like to eventually have my RN if I do go the LPN route. I'm thinking that if I do go for my RN I will more than likely move back to Texas to get that. There are just too many great programs right in Austin to not take advantage of my family living there. I'll keep everyone posted on that.

I leave on Thursday to go watch my sister Judith graduate from college. I will "sadly" have to go to Colorado for this, but I was there for almost her whole online school nightmare that I figured I would support her out at the real deal! I'm really excited for her, and proud that she finally finished and made it out alive! Those were some tough times when she was in school, but I knew she could do it.

I'll post some pictures when I get back.

Other than that, I'm still single, and not really holding my breath for marriage! When it happens, it happens.

Love y'all.
Joyce
