6th folder 6th picture

This is some people from Oklahoma practicing "Ice Dancing." It was the first activity I went to after I moved to Oklahoma, and it was rather intimidating... I didn't really know anyone, but I'm glad I went. I met Ralph who let me throw the football with him, and is now marrying one of my best friends. And I met some other amazing people there! I really do miss Oklahoma and the fun times I had there. Don't get me wrong though. I still love Texas and always will. I'm a Texas girl for life! Anyway, that's my picture...

I'm not gonna "tag" anyone since it's a blog, but if you want to do it this is kinda fun!

You have to:
1. Go to my documents/pictures.
2. Go to my 6th file folder.
3. Go to my 6th picture.
4. Blog about it.
5. Tag 6 people to do the same.

Twitter

I started a Twitter account yesterday. I'm not gonna lie. I LOVE reading what the celebrities are up to. It's like a free version of People magazine and you know it's true because they're writing it! Ok, so I don't know that they are ALL writing for sure, but a girl can hope right? Some could be fake, but I know a couple are the real people... Anyway if you want to check mine out and see what I'm doing randomly throughout the day(I can text what I'm doing!) it's http://twitter.com/JNick10.

On another note, my dad told me one time that I would never make it through all the songs on my iPod. I have over 6000 in my iTunes, but only 5130 on my iPod. So I've put myself on this strict no changing to a certain album or type of music for like 2 weeks now. I made it to song 2129 before it froze! MY IPOD FROZE!!! I had to let it die, and when I told my dad he laughed and said I told you so! So now I've started over, and i'm at song number 131... We'll see how it goes. I'll keep you posted.

Oh, and I finally got my CNA/CHHA licenses resiprocated here in Texas. I can go back to being a licensed "butt wiper" as my friend said. It may gross you out, but you get used to it... I'd better get used to it for a little while if I'm gonna be a nurse!

Another Week finished

So I was at work today and during a slow moment I started checking out crazy news on AOL... it's always crazy on there. Anyway, I found this slideshow of "Amazing Births." It was crazy the stories they had! First off was the lady who had one twin just before midnight 2008 and the other twin 26 mins later in 2009! Have you heard aobut this? I love it! How cool would it be to have twins born on different days AND YEARS?? Honestly? That's my new goal in life... to have twins born in different years... Anyway another one was this 70 year old woman in India who had her first kid... AT 70!! Oh my... kinda cool, but sad at the same time... they won't be around when she's a teenager! Now this is my favorite... You think this kid will have a lucky number???

Xander Riniker, surrounded by sister Chloe Shumacher, 11, and father Chad Riniker, was born at 8:08 a.m. on August 8, 2008 and weighs 8 pounds, 8 ounces.

Anyway... I just thought it was pretty crazy... Hope everyone is doing well...

Life

So I've been working and just hanging out lately. I was recently called to be the Gospel Doctrine team teacher in my ward... I teach for the first time this Sunday so I'll let you know how it goes. It is a very intimidating calling, but I'm excited for it.

As for work, I LOVE my job! It is fun getting to know all the ins and outs of the insurance side of home health care. I also get to see a lot of different diagnoses so I try and figure out what they are then ask if I'm correct... It's funny... The people and company I work for a great. It's very relaxed, but we get the work done. I spent a few days in San Antonio training which was fun. I learned a lot and got to see a friend for lunch.

As for school I am still searching for one. I've heard about a program in Houston that is one year for a Bachlors so I'll see about it. That's pretty fast to get a 4 year degree in, but if it gets it done maybe... I am in the process of getting my CNA and CHHA licenses moved here in Texas from Oklahoma so that I might be able to get a 2nd job and save more money... I figure I don't have much of a social life right now so it wouldn't change much. There is a company that came to talk to us here at my job that is looking for some so maybe I'll call them when I get my license here. As crazy as it sounds I really do enjoy helping other people. Some people can't handle certian things about it, and I couldn't for a while, but you get used to it. I don't want to be a Nurse Aide forever, but it's good to start with. If I play my cards right I can have my RN in a few years and start doing what I really want to do.

So for now that is all I've got... No funny life experiences other than trying to explain to my parents what is so funny about the show "The Office," and what "that's what she said" is all about without feeling uncomfortable. I guess blaming our sense of humor on Grandpa Joe isn't fair, but we all defineatly have his! Oh, and telling your parents who you've frenched kissed is and experience... I don't recommend if you aren't comfortable with talking to them! Anyway... I'll keep you all posted...

Another Update

I'm back in Austin. It's good to be home, but weird to be here at the same time. Being in Tulsa was amazing. I don't have any complaints other than my mom and dad weren't too close.

I start my new job on Monday, the 5th, and I'm very excited. I will be working for another home health company as the Intake Coordinator as well as the back up Home Health Aide. It will be fun to learn something new. I still need to register for some classes, but I've found a few schools that I need to really look into for Nursing school. I'm hoping to be in school by next Fall.

As for the rest of my life, everything is great. I love bing close to most of the family, and playing with my nieces and nephews that are around here.
